Rice + Butter + Cheese + Seaweed
Four essential ingredients come together to create a snack that’s simple yet irresistible. A favorite Gimme team recipe, this savory snack was created in our home kitchen by our very own co-founder Annie and her daughter. The best part about this recipe is that it comes together in 5 minutes so it’s the perfect after-school or in-between-sports snack. Kids of all ages love it, too.
A little butter and cheese add depth and flavor to basic white rice, while seaweed adds crunchy texture, umami and extra nutrition. (Our roasted seaweed snacks are an excellent source of vitamin B12 and iodine). It’s comfort food you can feel good about: everyday ingredients combined in an unexpected way for a delicious anytime snack.
- Make or heat up a bowl of rice.
- Add a slab of butter on top of the rice (let it melt)
- Drizzle on soy sauce or tamari, and mix
- Scoop a spoonful of rice onto a roasted seaweed square, add a cube of cheese, fold and enjoy!
